Comedienne Leslie Jones, who was recently hit with racist and sexist abuse online, and even found multiple private photos of herself leaked on the Internet, joked about her ordeal at the Emmys on Sunday night.
The Ghostbusters star, addressing the security team that handled the Emmys’ winners list, said on stage, “Y’all over here using your skills to protect best voice over in a French sitcom. Meanwhile, I’m butt naked on CNN. I just wanted to feel beautiful y’all. Can a sister feel beautiful ”
The SNL veteran also referenced being attacked on Twitter by trolls: “Don’t nobody want to know about boring Emmy secrets. But since you good at keeping things safe I got a job for you — my Twitter account. Put that in the vault please.”
