Kate Winslet bans social media

Despite social media’s increasing popularity among celebrities, Kate Winslet has shunned Instagram, Twitter or any other site that gives anyone a glimpse of her private life.

In fact, the 40-year-old actress told the Sunday Times that social media makes her “blood boil” and has pulled the plug on it for her children too.

In an interview with Culture magazine, the Steve Jobs star said, “It has a huge impact on young women’s self-esteem because all they ever do is design themselves for people to like them. And what comes along with that Eating disorders. And that makes my blood boil. And is the reason we don’t have social media in our house.” Kate also revealed that she and third husband Ned Rocknroll have agreed to charge their phones downstairs in separate rooms at bedtime and they “practically kiss them (the phones) goodnight” as she worries about their addictiveness.
