Netflix is in negotiations to revive the beloved mother-daughter drama Gilmore Girls, starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, according to The Hollywood Reporter and TV Line.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix is talking with series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino about bringing back Rory (Alexis) and Lorelai (Lauren) for four 90-minute movies. A source said that production would start early next year. Gilmore Girls ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007.

The cast reunited at the ATX Television Festival in June and addressed the possibility of a reunion. “There is nothing in the works,” Amy had said. “But the good news is, nobody here hates each other.” She added that if they ever did decide to do a reboot, they’d “do it correctly”.

The Hollywood Reporter says many of the series’ original cast members are in talks to return. However, Melissa McCarthy, who played Lorelai’s best friend Sookie St. James, may not return.
