Fresh from her exploits in the Ladies Asian Tour, Vani Kapoor will look to keep the momentum going in the 8th leg of the Hero women’s professional golf tour, starting in Bengaluru from Wednesday.

She finished tied fifth at the Hong Kong Ladies Master and will be eyeing the top spot in the Hero Order of Merit as the Tour resumes after a gap of three months.

The Rs 6,00,000 event featuring 13 professionals and amateur Suchitra Ramesh will culminate on Friday.

Vani is currently third in the Hero Order of Merit in four appearances with three wins this season.

However, she is expected to face a challenge from the likes of Neha Tripathi, Amandeep Drall and Gursimar Badwal at the Eagleton Golf Resort.

Neha leads the Order of Merit in seven appearances and will look to secure her position atop the money list. The golfer from Kolkata has two wins to her name and will be eager for an encore.

Kapurthala’s Gursimar, who claimed her maiden professional title this season, will be a force to reckon with at the event.

Panchkula’s Amandeep has played consistent golf in the last year and a half and will try to keep up the good work. Her lone win came at Oxford in Pune, and she will be keen to add to her tally.

Other players in the fray are Chandigarh’s Saaniya Sharma, Delhi’s Mehar Atwal and Pune’s Shweta Galande.
