Anirban Lahiri and Jeev Milkha are unlikely to make the cut at the US Open after a poor first couple of rounds.

Anirban Lahiri and Jeev Milkha are unlikely to make the cut at the US Open after a poor first couple of rounds.

Lahiri shot 73 and 78 in his two rounds, while Jeev had cards of 76 and 79. At 11-over and 15-over, there is almost no chance of either making the cut, which is likely to fall at around six or seven-over.

Meanwhile, Dustin Johnson’s clubhouse lead on four-under par was holding up midway through the second round.

England’s Lee Westwood briefly vaulted over Johnson with two birdies in his first four holes taking him to five-under for the tournament. But he gave two strokes back at the sixth and seventh to drop to three-under, where he was joined by Gregory Bourdy.

France’s Bourdy jumped up the leaderboard with an eagle two at the 11th, where he holed out from the fairway.

Spain’s Sergio Garcia and American Scott Piercy were in the clubhouse on two-under.

American Jim Furyk wrapped up a two-under 68 for 139, joining England’s Andy Sullivan and American Daniel Summerhays in the clubhouse on one-under.

Andrew Landry, the surprise first-round leader at four-under, dropped four strokes in three holes with bogeys and the sixth and seventh followed by a double-bogey at the par-three eighth and was one-under for the tournament through 13 holes.

World number three Rory McIlroy had four birdies in his first seven holes as he battled back from an opening 77.
