Back to full fitness after a niggling shoulder injury, Anirban Lahiri returns to action at the Porsche European golf Open in Bad Griesbach, Germany.

Lahiri, however, goes into the event without a practice round as the Beckenbauer course, which hosts the event at Bad Griesbach this week, was flooded and as a result the practice round and Pro-Am were cancelled.

The other Indian in the field is S.S.P. Chawrasia, who has been struggling with form having missed a series of cuts in recent starts.

The 28-year-old Lahiri, ranked 86th, is hoping to use the next four months to get to the elite zone and then make a fresh challenge in USA, where he has managed to hold his PGA Tour card for 2016-17.

His last appearance on European soil was the British Open.

“Yes, its been a long time, so I am looking forward to playing this week, because it will be a good test of my shoulder and overall recovery. Unfortunately the weather has forced us to play blind with the course being shut all week so far,” said Lahiri.

Jeev leads Indian challenge In Osaka, Jeev Milkha Singh — now not a regular on the Japan Golf Tour — will lead the Indian challenge even as Rahil Gangjee seeks a sold finish at the Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup starting Thursday. The other six include Jyoti Randhawa, the first Indian to have ever won a title in Japan. Also in the fray are Arjun Atwal, Rahil Gangjee, Chiragh Kumar, Gaganjeet Bhullar and Himmat Rai. Aditi ready for ladies Spanish Open In Mabella, Spain, teen golfer Aditi Ashok, who registered her first top-10 finish as a professional last fortnight, is ready for another shot at the Ladies European Tour, when she tees up for the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España Femenino golf tournament this week.

Aditi is currently ranked 43rd on the LET Order of Merit and a top-80 finish will keep her card for next year.
