Debutants DSK Shivajians Football Club are savouring the experience of competing in the I-League. The team are yet to taste success in their inaugural season, but believe that they are “developing as a unit”.

Following a solitary point in their Hero I-League opener, DSK Shivajians lost 0-2 away to Aizawl FC, who are also making their debut.

Said DSK Shivajians head coach Derrick Pereira, “Our aim this season is to develop as a team. In every match, we want to learn from our mistakes of the previous game and perform better as a unit.

“We are working together daily to create the chemistry which will help the team going forward. We have a lot of young players who are playing in the I-League for the first time. On the other hand, we have experienced players who are always ready to share their knowledge and experience with the young ones.”

The team are now keen to register their first win.

“The players have shown character in the pre-season, especially after the impressive outing in the DSK Cup. Based on their performances, we have handpicked the top players who I think will be able to make a positive impact in the I-League,” Pereira added.
