Norberto Gonsalves was appointed as the new chief coach of the Goa based I-League club Salgaocar for the upcoming season.
Norberto has gone on to coach various clubs around the country over a period of 20 years having worked as an assistant coach with Salgaocar from 1995 to 2000. Prior to becoming a coach, he was at the heart of the SFC defence for 12 years captaining the team to glory in the 1989 Federation Cup, it added.
On his appointment, the 58-year-old remarked, “I am really excited about joining Salgaocar as it is my former club as a player and has a great reputation.”
