The central attacking midfielder had been one of Chennaiyin FC’s key players for the last two seasons and is expected to inject energy and creativity into the Dynamos side. Pelissari is known for turning into an attacking option at critical moments.
The Brazilian had signed up with Moldovan Divizia Nationala side Sheriff Tiraspol but the Dynamos managed to lure him back to the ISL on a free transfer.
“I am thankful to Dynamos for this opportunity. I have been playing in the ISL since its inception. I was fortunate to win the title last year and hope that I enjoy similar kind of success this year too. I was looking for a new challenge and when Delhi Dynamos FC approached me, I couldn’t say no. It was unfortunate that Delhi lost in the semi-finals last year. But now, with a new coach and a stronger set of players, I believe we will be a real force to reckon with.’ Pelissari said.
DDFC head coach Gianluca Zambrotta expressed said Pelissari would be vital to his plans. “He has been one of the top players in the league over the last two years and through his performances he has proven himself a match-winner. He will definitely be an asset to us.” Zambrotta said.
Pelissari has scored seven goals over the last two seasons. He scored in both the semi-finals and the final in Season Two
Meanwhile, FC Pune City added India international Francis Fernandes to their ranks. Fernandes began his career playing Under-19s at Vasco SC and their senior team. In 2006, he moved to Salgaocar where he was an integral part of the setup until he joined Dempo in 2014. He has been a regular with the national side since 2011. In ISL, he has played for Delhi Dynamos since Season One.
Fernandes was excited on joining FC Pune City, saying “I am thankful to FC Pune City for providing me a new challenge. The club’s heart is in the right place and I want to be a part of their glorious time.”
