Newbie Ankita Sharma has bagged a pivotal role in the upcoming show Ek Shringar Swabhimaan. The actress is on cloud nine as the role is loosely based on actress Amrita Rao’s character from the movie Vivaah. Incidentally, the show is also being produced by Rajshri productions — the same house that produced the movie in 2006. The youngster, who has grown up watching movies of the production house like Maine Pyaar Kiya and Hum Aapke Hai Kaun, says that it is like a dream come true.
Coincidentally Amrita’s character in Vivaah has remained etched in the actress’s memory ever since she saw the movie. Still, to get the intricacies and gestures right, the young actress had to watch the movie a couple of times. Like Amrita’s character Poonam in the movie, Naina too comes off as a simple and affectionate girl who puts her family before everything.
Speaking about her character, Ankita says, “I grew up watching Rajshri movies and the way they treat characters is mesmerising. When I was told about Naina’s character, her traits quickly reminded me of Amrita from Vivaah. The beauty hidden in Naina’s simplicity, and the way she is devoted towards her mother and sister, is quite synonymous with Poonam’s character. I hope that I will be able to create a similar impact with Naina’s character and make an impression on the audience. This is a very important show for me, as it will decide my future in the industry.”
