Adam Avil founded the rock band Greek in the early ’90s with his brother Eddie Avil and Luke Kenny. The band was latter named Pralay. Adam started playing lead guitars, composing and writing along with Eddie Avil, after years of struggle to break into the international music scene. Their debut album was Urban Reality, which went on to reach great heights. In a candid chat, we talk about his musical favourites.

One song that you listen to on repeat mode on your iPod these days: Red Hot Chilli Peppers’s Dark Necessities.

Five songs in the soundtrack of your life:
Top Gun’s Danger Zone. I grew up on these songs, films, shaped my vision for personal goals on music/films.
Eye of the Tiger from Rocky. I’m a huge fan of Sylvester Stallone and his body of work.
Nothing Else Matters by Metallica, The Rolling Stones’s Jumpin Jack Flash. I’m a big fan of Mick Jagger, his energy level on stage is unmatchable, greatest frontman of all time!
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones.

A song that you love to listen to when:
You’re happy and upbeat: The Rolling Stones.
You’re really low: Maybe a few Bollywood sad tunes.
You’re working out: Rap music and Iron Maiden.

How would you describe your taste in music: ’80s rock, blues rock, Led Zeppelin, Doors, Metallica, Iron Maiden.

Your favourite time/way to listen to music during the day: When I’m driving and during lunch break at work.

One band/musician you want a private concert from: Mick Jagger is the ultimate performer. I remember watching their show at Brabourne Stadium Churchgate, and I couldn’t take my eyes off him for a single moment.

One live act you would love to see at least once in your life: U2.
