Guru Randhawa, who is best known for his popular Suit, is excited about his Bollywood debut. This time, the singer has recreated the song for the upcoming film, Hindi Medium. In a chat, we talk to Guru about his musical favourites:

A song you listen to on repeat: Any soundtrack by Hans Zimmer.

If you had to make a playlist to represent your life: I will definitely include Han’s work from the movie Interstellar. I mostly listen to this when I am flying. So when the plane is taking off and the music is playing simultaneously, it enhances my experience of taking off.

Is there a song you love to listen to when:
You’re happy and upbeat: Sweat by Snoop Dogg.
You’re working out: Any song that is playing in the gym.

Is there any music you used to love as a kid or a teenager that you’re now embarrassed by when you think back: There are so many songs!

How would you describe your taste in music? It’s like gulab jamun — it’s sweet.

Your favourite time to listen to music: There isn’t really a favourite time of the day to listen to music. I listen to music even while I sleep. I have been listening to a lot of soundtracks lately. I think that listening to a song with lyrics limits your mindset as you are made to think within that range of lyrics. It’s a surreal feeling.

If you could have one musician perform a private concert for you, who would it be? Bruno Mars and of course Hans Zimmer.
