With the onset of summer, the Capital has a good reason to cheer and experience the sheer ‘edge of the seat experiences’ from Beijing Dance Academy at Connections 2019.

The famous French Jazz Trio, Remi Panossian, left the audience spellbound with some of their extremely fluid performance with vivid notes on the inaugural day. This Jazz trio, elected as Revelation of the year 2011 by Paris-based Jazz radio station TSF JAZZ, has performed at major festivals around the globe.

Connections 2019, which is on at Delhi’s Sri Ram Centre till April 14, is a brainchild of a widely acclaimed choreographer and dancer Rukmini Chatterjee.  This is the first time Beijing Dance Academy is performing in India. The aesthetics are known to come from their martial arts, acrobatics, ancient poetry, painting and drama.

Connections festival, says Rukmini, is about connecting Delhi audiences to international performances that they would rarely ever witness. “This year too we have two unique and exceptional performances of Jazz music and Chinese dance by the Remi Panossian jazz trio from France and the Beijing Dance Academy from China. These two are totally distinct genres yet sharing the same quest for excellence. What they also have in common is the profound emotional and intellectual connect to the audience,” she explains.
