American singer, song-writer, actress and dancer Beyonce recently announced that she will be going vegan again in preparation for Coachella 2018. And posted a colourful vegan meal. Similarly Priyanka Chopra recently uploaded a video where she is seen hogging a burger, which she called comfort food. In the video she said that it gave her the confidence she needs when she goes in front of the camera or red carpet. There are many celebrities that are taking to instagram to let us in on what they love to eat, and some are even going a step further, promoting healthy eating.

Before her marriage Kareena Kapoor-Khan used to post photos of her latest dish as she liked to cook. Such activities seem to make celebrities connect with foodies and fans across borders, and even suggest some healthy advice.

Queen Bey aka Beyonce’s avocado toast got many likes. Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi too has posted pictures of some of things that she made as a cook and foodie herself. Why do stars upload such pictures, taking timeout from their schedules? Is it because they just want to feel like normal people? Or is it something else. A Sandalwood celebrity explores this.

Being a celebrity means you are different from others, but in order to build a relationship with fans, celebrities tend to post pictures of what they eat. Sandalwood actress Paayal Radhakrishna says, “I feel that social media has become a very important part of our lives. More and more people are becoming Instagram friendly. I have also seen a lot of healthy eating and vegan challenges becoming a trend. When celebrities post such pictures of vegan food, fans tend to follow them as they look up to a particular celebrity. I think that when celebrities or any public figure posts, it’s a step closer for them to be more in touch with their fans. Hence, they share things like personal routines, regimes etc. Also, one of the reasons why celebrities share their diet routines and beauty regimes on Instagram and other social handles is to promote healthier or better awareness.”
