When Amitabh Bachchan advised Aamir Khan to not smoke

While working with Amitabh Bachchan in Thugs of Hindostan, Aamir Khan was told by him “Don’t smoke it’s not good,” on the very first day.

Aamir was shocked to hear this as he had not smoked in front of him when Big B clarified, “I know you inquired from Avinash Gowariker if you should seek permission to smoke in my presence.”

Speaking about the incident Aamir said, “I was discussing with Avinash Gowariker before going onto the sets to shoot with Amitji if I could seek his permission to smoke in his presence. I respect him hugely so I was contemplating whether I could smoke in front of him.”

Adding Aamir said, “I was indeed surprised that Amitji had come to know this secret even before I could put forth my request to him.”

He advised me not to smoke so very humbly, I was really touched by his thoughtful gesture,” Aamir said.
