Shahid Kapoor has a Padmavati issue

Shahid Kapoor is very upset about his name not appearing as often as he would like it to be when the film Padmavati is being mentioned.

The allegedly estranged lovebirds Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are the only two names being pitted against each other whenever there is a mention of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed historical, and that is true.

The couple’s off-screen romance has helped them be in the limelight during media write ups about the film, and that is not making Shahid happy. Shahid plays the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh in the movie who is not a very well-known name from the pages of history. People remember Allauddin Khilji, the invader and Padmavati who led a mass Jauhar of the women who did not want to fall prey to the evil designs of Khilji and his marauding men.

History also has it that Shahid’s character even had another wife before Padmavati called Nagmati, but we are not sure how Bhansali wants to portray that.

Having said that Shahid’s name being mentioned is akin to how much Raja Rawal Ratan Singh’s name is mentioned in Indian history. But the actor now wants his PR team to rewrite history, at least as far as media mention of SLB’s Padmavati are concerned.

That won’t be much of a challenge when it comes to paid news. However, is that what people want to read?
