Mumbai: We often heard of fans showering Bollywood celebrities with special gifts to impress their idols. It is a common norm in the country where there are many film fanatics who not just adore but worship film actors.

It so happened that a fan gifted Ranveer a painting of his Peshwa Bajirao, a character he played in 2015 film 'Bajirao Mastani' after watching his portrayal of Alauddin Khilji from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat'. Ranveer's highly appreciated performance as the antagonist in the film moved the fan so much that he had to paint a picture of Bajirao to remind Ranveer of his positive character.

According to the Mid-day article, a source close to ‘Padmaavat’ star said, "Ranveer has placed the painting in his living room so that he can be reminded of the love his fans harbour for him. He salutes their overwhelming affection and hopes the painting will motivate him to push the envelope with every act. The fan dropped off the painting at the YRF office in Andheri. They, in turn, contacted the actor and handed it over to him."

Moved by the art, Ranveer Singh hung the painting in his living room. Moved by the art, Ranveer Singh hung the painting in his living room.

Ranveer had earlier revealed his process of getting into the character of menacing Alauddin Khilji, who has been portrayed as a maniac obsessed with Deepika Padukone’s Rani Padmavati. He said, “I have had some life experiences that were quite dark. I can’t reveal too much because it is too personal but it is the stuff I have brushed under the carpet so to speak. Stuff that I have buried in my conscience that I had to dig out in order to play this character. And it was not always pretty, which validates my apprehension. I knew how deep I had to go into this rabbit hole. I would have had to go into this dark, black space. This abyss that could be dangerous for me. And it was.”

After blockbuster success of 'Padmaavat', Ranveer is currently busy shooting for Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy', alongside Alia Bhatt. His upcoming film 'Simmba', will release in December co-starring Sara Ali Khan, which would mark the young actress' debut in Rohit Shetty film.
