Harshvardhan apologises to Diljit, at Anil’s behest

Harshvardhan Kapoor’s tirade against a recently concluded awards ceremony ended in a whimper with the young, impulsive actor apologising to Diljit Dosanjh. The Mirzya actor had taken exception to Diljit being awarded the best male debutant award, given that he’s an established name in the Punjbi film industry.

Sources say that Harshvardhan’s apology came at his father’s behest. “Anil Kapoor has always been non-controversial and friendly to everyone in the industry. His son’s outburst against Diljit embarrassed Anil deeply, especially at a time when Anil is playing the role of a sardarji in Mubarakan. Anil feared a backlash from the Sikh community, and quickly asked his son to apologise to Diljit,” says a source.

A close relative of the Kapoor family says, “Harshvardhan is young and impulsive. He will learn to be more diplomatic with time. Right now, he feels he is entitled to speak his mind, even if it embarrasses his father.”
