Only three names on Deep-Veer’s guest list?

Looks like Ranveer and Deepika have taken a leaf out of Virat and Anushka’s book — only their wedding will be an even more intimate affair. We hear that the couple will be flying to the scenic island of Lake Como with just a handful of close friends and relatives for their mid-November nuptials.

Says a source, “From the film industry, only Farah Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar have been told to prepare for the wedding. A few more names may be added to the list of invitees, but the couple is taking along only a few handpicked guests. The rest of their friends will be invited to the wedding reception.”

Considering just how popular the couple is, this slim guest list definitely comes as a surprise. But then again, they’ve always kept their relationship private.

“The decision to restrict the guest list was Deepika’s. If Ranveer had his way, he would invite the entire band, baaja and baarat. But Deepika wants the wedding to remain a very low-key event,” says a friend of the couple who hasn’t made it to the guest list.

Meanwhile, the couple is also likely to face some backlash for choosing a foreign destination to tie the knot when there are so many beautiful spots to choose from in India. They can’t really say that they’re doing it to avoid the paparazzi, because media houses are already busy planting correspondents at the Italian venue.
