Online release for Rajma Chawal

Digital seems to be the way to go these days, and actor Rishi Kapoor is all set to make his debut on the platform. His film Rajma Chawal will be released on Netflix in November this year after premiering at the BFI London Film Festival.

Directed by Leena Yadav and set in the chaotic yet vibrant Chandni Chowk area of Delhi, Rajma Chawal tells the story of a father attempting to reconnect with his estranged son through social media. The internationally acclaimed filmmaker is known to showcase complex and dynamic family relationships with depth, sensitivity and the ability to find humour in unexpected places. Her first international feature film, Parched, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2015.

Talking about her upcoming release, Leena says, “The father-son dynamic is a universal human theme. Being on Netflix invites the whole world into the lives of a family in Chandni Chowk. We are excited to bring the tumult, the colour and the vitality of the family and the place to newer audiences.”

The film is said to be an emotional rollercoaster that features Rishi Kapoor Amyra Dastur, Aparshakti Khurana and debutant Anirudh Tanwar.
