Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently busy shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati and gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Thugs of Hindostan, will soon begin working on his next project — director Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund.

It’s believed that after the season finale of KBC and the much-anticipated release of TOH, the actor will embark on non-stop schedule, in Nagpur, in mid-November.

So far, the makers of Jhund are keeping details about the project and Bachchan’s role in it tightly under wraps. But we hear that he will be seen playing a professor who builds a football team of street kids.

The total duration of the shoot is expected to be 70-80 days, and Bachchan will shoot with the team for 45 days straight. He will also spend a few days rehearsing with the kids beforehand.

Explaining why he’s chosen Nagpur as the backdrop for his film, Nagraj Manjule says, “Nagpur has its own unique charm and feel that different from Mumbai and Pune. I want the film to be as authentic as possible, which is why I’m shooting there. The language of the film is best showcased in Nagpur, and that’s why I’ve chosen that city.”

The director also says that working with Bachchan is dream come true. “He has always been one of my favourite legends. Nobody other than him would fit the role so perfectly and do justice to the character. In fact, all the other people in the film are newcomers. I think the combination of Mr Bachchan and this young team will be something to watch out for!” he says.

Jhund is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Savita Raj Hiremath, and Nagraj Manjule.
