Will Ram Gopal Varma’s next be the new Rangeela?

Ram Gopal Varma, who has seen glorious days from Rangeela to Company, was recently in the news for his web series. However, currently, he is busy with his upcoming project, which is tentatively titled, Beautiful. Shot across locations in Mumbai, a source says that this project may just go on to redefine Ram Gopal’s works. The source says, “This project is Ram Gopal’s Rangeela 2. The filmmaker has chosen to shoot in one of his favourite locations, Dharavi. The lead characters won’t have a glamorous avatar since they are based in Dharavi itself.”

The source goes on to add, “Since Ram Gopal is a known face, and one of his closest assistant directors has taken up the responsibility to shoot the film. We are shooting on bikes with hidden cameras. So much so that the police authorities cannot recognise us.”

Ramu, it seems, is leaving no effort to make sure that the film works in his favour. The source says, “Ramu is being authentic. So much so that he scrapped an entire song shot by his assistant because it wasn’t shot according to his vision. We had to shoot the song all over again.”

The lead actress of the film, is the same girl who shot for his web series. “The shooting is 40 per cent complete. By next month, the team will move to Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad to continue the shoot,” the source says.
