Gustakhiyan in limbo
With Irrfan and PeeCee both busy with international assignments, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is playing the waiting game.
Irrfan Khan is currently away in the US, filming his movie Puzzle with Kelly McDonald. Priyanka Chopra too is busy shooting for the short third season, and finale of her TV show Quantico, as well as Sila Howard’s film A Kid Like Jake.
So, what happens to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie Gustakhiyan? PeeCee and Irrfan were to be the lead pair of the movie, but none of the actors seem free for a while.
Does producer Bhansali then put the film on hold or can it? His team has asked him to shelve it, but SLB loves the story so much that he’s willing to hold on for a bit longer.
Irrfan has already told the filmmaker that it would take him long to commit, given the nature of his international assignments and the time he needs to devote to them.
Hindi Medium, the actor’s latest Hindi movie, managed to cross the Rs 70 crore mark despite being a small budget movie. Bhansali wants to ensure that his leading man is no one but Irrfan for the movie, based on the love story of Sahir Ludhianvi and Amrita Pritam.
We guess it’s wait and watch for team Bhansali.
