Farhan Akhtar’s pumped up

The recent pictures of actor-director Farhan Akhtar took the Internet by storm. While many appreciated the new supermodel-look of the actor, many also talked about the rigorous training he undertook for the look. From the cool-boy Farhan from Rock On!!, to his muscular look in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, to his new supermodel body, Farhan has come a long way. Reportedly, his long-time trainer Samir Jaura has helped him achieve this look for his next project in just eight weeks.

Samir is also training Shahid Kapoor for his upcoming movie Padmavati.

Talking about how Farhan manages to take time out of his hectic schedule to train, Samir quips, “He is a perfectionist. His day starts at 5.30 am — he cycles for 42 kilometers, after which he relaxes for 15-20 minutes and has carrot juice. He then comes to gym to workout. He also plays volleyball twice a week. As he wants to flex his muscles, we worked towards strength and functional training. Our training sessions are varied and intense.” He adds, “During Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, too, I made him follow a gruesome workout routine. I trained him six times a day during the shoot.”

However, Samir did not share details on why Farhan is undergoing such an intense workout. Farhan recently thanked Samir in an Instagram post, writing, “Thank you to the coolest trainer and my dear friend Samir Jaura. Your expertise, care and encouragement makes it possible and fun!”Samir has also trained Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, Ram Charan and Upasana.
