It was double celebrations for Govinda on his birthday this year. As the actor turned 53 on December 21, he is all excited to comeback as a lead in his February release Aagaya Hero.

“I am not a party animal so for me it was all about taking blessings of my gurus, my friends and family members who came over to my place,” says the actor who wishes that no one has to ever get into his shoes. “Becoming Govinda wasn’t a cake walk, I struggled a lot,” he adds. While Varun Dhawan is often considered to be Bollywood’s next Govinda, the actor feels he shouldn’t undergo all the politics and struggle he went through. “I wish him every success. He is David Dhawan’s son but if someone wishes to be Govinda, it is their wish,” he adds. He believes it is important to dance from the heart. “If you add steps to a dance, it loses its charm,” he shares.

Much has been said about his friendship with Salman Khan. “Salman and many others have always stood by me. But I don’t think we will be seen on screen again. I do not belong to his camp nor to any other camp. Besides, how much can your friends from the same profession can help you? Especially, if their business gets affected. I have had the opportunity of working with Amitabah Bachchan only once. It’s all destiny,” he says

Govinda feels  big producers sidelined him. “I have been a victim. I never got great producers, the songs penned for me had words like isko mirchi and khatiya,” he smiles.
