Mumbai: Mincing words are just not Sonam Kapoor’s forte. She will speak her heart out and express her opinions, without fearing the repercussions, which would be followed in.

She is one of those celebrities who has time and again been trolled on Twitter, by the self-proclaimed critics.

However, the actress is in no mood to stay silent and has fought back to the insanity of the ones trolling her, through a blog in a leading daily.

In the powerful piece penned down by Sonam, she began off by saying that the reader might call her a 'bimbo', a 'naachne wali', etc but she is a self-assured woman, a successful one at that, and she is “smart and capable of expressing an opinion."

The actress shouts out to know the essence and existence of democracy in the blog.

She wonders out loud why is it wrong to question the status quo and even sometimes the government.

"You pounce on us when we criticize the government. Why can't I criticize the government? Isn't that what democracy is all about? It doesn't matter whether I've voted for Narendra Modi or not. Either way, we have a right to ask questions," voiced the ‘Neerja’ actress.

She added, "I’m a proud Indian. I love my country but for some of you — and you’re the bigots, not me — I become ‘anti-national’ only because I ask questions or choose to be critical. Listen to the national anthem one more time. Recall the line you heard as kids, ‘Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Issai…’"

She gave her haters a piece of her mind and thrashed them saying, "Sensitivity is an important trait when you’re on social media. I’ve learned to be a moderate. I’ve learned also to try and engage with those who are critical so I don’t build walls around myself, but dear trolls, you need to be more intelligent. It’s easy for me to block and report you and I’ve done that liberally, but I’m also capable of forgiveness, for you know not what you do. Try and get out of your bigoted mindset. Else, you’re nothing but illiterate, uneducated extremists."

Well, the actress has definitely won our hearts!
