The ever-enterprising Mahesh Bhatt is about to take an initiative to resume the cultural dialogue between India and Pakistan with an eternal love story. The filmmaker is turning Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet into a stage adaptation, and one of Indo-Pak love and strife.

Sources say that the play, titled Milne Do, will feature artistes and musicians from both sides of the border.

Delhi-based theatre actor, Imran Zahid, who will play Bhatt’s Romeo, says, “Bhatt sahab has already approached Ali Zafar to write a theme song for the play. We’re now in the process of approaching some more Pakistani singers and composers.”

Says Bhatt about the play, “It will address the theme of us, instead of them.”
