Lamenting the paucity of interesting roles in the Hindi film industry, actress Chitrangada Singh awaits the release of Bazaar.

Actress Chitrangada Singh who was last seen in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3  is unfortunately not in a happy place professionally. The actress is, supposedly, not getting interesting roles.

Says Chitrangada, “I am not satisfied because I don’t think I am getting to do anything different right now. So I am just waiting. As an actor, I’m definitely not happy because there is a lot more that I can do. I can dabble in many other things for sure.”

The actress, who will now be seen in Bazaar, says this waiting phase can often be a little trying. “It is irritating but what I am also excited about are the scripts that I have written which I am putting together. I am thrilled about that. So this is definitely a part of every actor’s life, where you have to wait for the right script.”

Chitrangada also believes that we, as Indians, need to celebrate our skin colour. The actress recalls losing out on a project because of her skin tone. She says, “I did lose out on something when I was modelling. I had auditioned for a brand I was shortlisted for, but I lost out because they wanted a fair girl. That was the first time I felt I was dusky. Before that this had never triggered me because I was never told so. In the industry, I had never faced this.”

“Priyanka is dusky and how skin colour is getting celebrated is amazing. I think it is all changing. We are in a good time and we should be proud of our skin colour,” she adds.
