After making peace last year, Ness Wadia chargesheeted for 'molesting' Preity Zinta

Mumbai: The Marine Drive Police in Mumbai on Tuesday filed a charge sheet against businessman Ness Wadia for allegedly molesting and verbally abusing actress Preity Zinta almost three-and-half years ago.
Wadia was also present and granted bail on a personal surety of Rs 20,000 as the police submitted the 200-page charge sheet in the court of the chief metropolitan magistrate, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror.
He was charged under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force against woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of woman) of the Indian Penal Code after an FIR was registered against him on Preity’s complaint on June 13, 2014.
The incident took place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 30 that year.
Preity had accused Ness Wadia, both co-owners of the IPL team Kings XI Punjab, of verbally abusing the team staff over stadium tickets when he saw Preity seated in the Garware Pavilion.
Despite the actress changing her seat, Wadia abused her again on the field in the presence of her team members, the complaint stated.
Preity alleged that he grabbed her arm when she tried to distance herself from him, leading to ‘bruise-like marks’, photographs of which she submitted along with the complaint.
The actress also stated that despite their relationship ending before the incident, he continued to harass her.
Gene Goodenough, who Preity married in 2016, is one of the witnesses and had stated that he intervened during the incident in a statement to the police, claimed the report.
Andrew Miller, father of South African cricketer David Miller, also sent a statement to the police where he said he witnessed the duo arguing, but didn’t spot him grabbing the arm, as he was seated at a distance.
Wadia had rubbished the claims made by Preity.
Surprisingly, the two were snapped bonding at an IPL match last year and have also been seen together during the auctions.
