Third time’s the charm for Sooraj Pancholi

Only one film old, despite having made his debut over a year ago, Sooraj Pancholi has finally bagged a film to be produced by Kumar Mangat’s Panorama studio. A source close to the developments has revealed that the movie is set to be a romantic action thriller.

“Producer Kumar Mangat has signed Faruk Kabir to direct the movie, and Sooraj has been signed for the lead role. The makers are currently scouting for a leading lady and Kiara Advani and Disha Patani have been zeroed down on,” the source said.

However, when contacted, Kiara’s spokesperson denied her having signed the movie. “Kiara hasn’t signed the film,” she said. Her M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story co-star, Disha’s spokesperson did not respond to the story at the time of going to print.

After Hero released in September 2015, Sooraj seemed to be having tough luck signing his second movie. It was earlier reported that an action project he had signed up for, to be directed by Remo D’souza, and featuring Ajay Devgn, had been put on hold for an indefinite period. Word was that the movie had been put on the backburner owing to financial woes, despite Remo refuting rumours.

Sooraj was also set to be a part of a Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani project, to be directed by debutant Pierre Timmins. The movie, which was to track the life of a footballer, got shelved too.
