Team Stree back together

Dinesh Vijan seems to have a knack for understanding small-town stories and getting the right directors to helm them. This is why, when he thought of reuniting his Stree jodi of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, he took on noted Gujarati director Abhishek Jain who has given Gujarati hits like Bey Yaar and Kevi Rite Jaish, both with social messages.

“Abhishek has worked with Subhash Ghai as well as Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and understands the big cinema universe as well. For Vijan, he was an appropriate choice to direct Shraddha and Rajkummar,” says our source.

Stree, produced by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Amar Kaushik, went on to be a blockbuster hit and was the first horror-comedy without very big stars. It went on to do over Rs 100 crores at the box office.
