Varun Dhawan’s quest for Octobers

While Varun Dhawan wants more Octobers in a year, his mentor Karan Johar has clearly told him that October is just a month in a calendar and he should take care of other months as well. Puzzles apart, Varun has found a lot of happiness from doing a film like Shoojit Sircar’s October, even though his bank manager is not too happy. As is Karan, who launched him.

Varun, however, is in a mood to do more such movies. “Karan is happy with the performance that Varun has given, but he is keen that Varun does more commercial films. While you do get a lot of satisfaction from doing films that serve a message or that bring you inner peace, it creates a severe dent in your box office image. Varun’s peaking at the moment with each one of his films having done well, barring October. Hence, Karan has asked him to concentrate more on the masala genre because Varun rules there,” informs a source.

Varun’s next release will be Sui Dhaaga which is again a content driven film followed by the period film Kalank co-starring a whole bunch of stars.
