Karan Johar, who was one of the producers of Raazi, is elated by the success of the film. The director is also known to share a special bond with the protagonist of the film, Alia Bhatt, as the young actress made her debut in his directional venture.

At a success party of the film, which was also attended by Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, the director spoke at length about the paternal bond he shares with Alia. Recollecting his first encounter with the actress, he said, “Soni walked into my office along with Alia and right from the first day, I could feel some cosmic connections, especially with Alia.”

The director went on to call himself an emotional parent. “I am proud being her emotional father. Although I am not her biological father, today I feel like I am Mahesh Bhatt, and that we (Karan and Soni) are her parents. After turning a parent to two little kids, today I understand how emotional one feels about their children’s achievements in life,” said the director.

Commenting on the actress’s budding, but already impressive career, Karan said, “I feel proud of Alia, who has performed in about eight films for Dharma Productions. All the films have proved a hit at the Box Office. So what if one film proved to bring in a bad result on our report card? However, I am happy that all of her other seven films have proved to be Shaandar at the box office.”
