Rajkummar Rao has proved his mettle time and time again, and is also known to be one of the most professional actors in the industry. And while we see actors recommending their close friends and partners’ names for their films to the producers, Rajkummar seems to be an exception. He claims he’s never recommended his girlfriend Patralekha’s name.

“I can’t do that,” he says. “I have never suggested her name to any of my director friends. If I feel that there’s a part she will definitely fit in, then I tell her she should speak to that filmmaker and go for an audition.”

He adds, “She went through rigorous rounds of auditions for Citylights. Even for Bose, she auditioned to get her part. If this was the case, she should be my actress in all my films. We don’t interfere in each other’s professional lives. If I’m confused about something, I know I can ask her.”

The actor, who is known for his unconventional movie choices, was last seen in Behen Hogi Teri, which bombed at the box office. However, the actor says that this is something that’s not in his control.

“That’s part of the process. You can’t take it to your heart. It’s something that’s not in your control. Nobody knows what will happen with our films. Every movie has its own destiny. All I can do is be honest and work harder,” shrugs the actor, who will now be seen in Bareilly Ki Barfii.
