Television actress Sakshi Tanwar received a lot of praises for her performance in Aamir Khan starrer Dangal recently. The actress who was in the city to promote her upcoming web series spoke about her onscreen chemistry with co-star Ram Kapoor, future projects and more.

Dangal, which was a wrestling drama based on the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat and his two wrestler daughters, saw Sakshi playing the role of the matriarch of the family, Daya Kaur. Ask her is she willing to take up more Bollywood projects and she says, “There are quite a few offers that I am considering at the moment. But post doing Dangal, I don’t want to do anything that can dilute that effect. I am happy to maintain that for the time being. Also, as you can see, I have never done more than one thing at a time. After Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, I took a three-year break and after Bade Achhe Lagte Hain I took a two and half year break. Honestly, currently I am on my break period but since it (the web series) was a prior commitment, I am honouring it.”

In the upcoming web series under Ekta Kapoor’s ALTBalaji Originals, Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat, Sakshi is reuniting with her Bade Acche co-star Ram Kapoor. Talking about their dynamics with Ram, she says that in real life, both of them are poles apart but that helps in giving life to their on-screen characters. “Ram and I are poles apart in real life. He is north and I am south. If he is east then I am west. We think differently. And I think, that works for us. The kind of work that we have been doing for the past so many years...resonate with our personalities.”

Lastly, ask her if after doing so many different roles, will she ever go back to where she started — the saas-bahu saga and she replies, “I may. But it will depend on the character. If I get to play a character that will help me explore a different side of my personality, then why not?”
