As reported earlier, director Karthik Subbaraj’s much celebrated film Jigarthanda is all set to be remade in Hindi soon. While the team has been working out on the cast and crew of the Hindi version, our little birdie tells us that Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn is said to have secured the remake rights of the super-hit flick that starred Siddharth, Bobby Simhaa, Karunakaran and Lakshmi Menon.

A source in the know tells us, “Actor Sanjay Dutt has always been the front runner for the Asault Sethu role enacted by Bobby Simhaa. Even Sanjay Dutt was impressed with the character arc of Sethu and decided to get on board. Shooting of this flick is expected to go on floors in January 2018.”

Reports suggest that Farhan Akthar may be roped in to reprise Siddharth’s role in the Hindi reboot. Director Nishikanth Kamat who helmed Jeethu Joseph’s Drushyam in Hindi, will be wielding the megaphone for this venture as well. “Currently, Nishikanth is working on the script of Jigarthanda’s Hindi version,” the source added. The official announcement regarding Jigarthanda’s Hindi remake will be out in the coming months.
