Kapil does it again, fails to turn up for Akshay's show due to health issues

The actor-comedian left the superstar and other judges like Sajid Khan, among others, waiting for him for four hours.

Mumbai: Kapil Sharma's fall from grace was something that nobody could have guessed or expected it.

Kapil became controversy’s favourite child few months ago in a series of events starting from mid-air verbal duel with co-star Sunil Grover to keeping some of the biggest stars of the country like Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, among others waiting for hours before cancelling the shoots of his TV show.

The actor-comedian later cleared the air multiple times about both the issues, saying that he has patched up with Sunil and that his health issues were behind his no-show at prospective star-studded episodes.

He was honest enough to admit that he was suffering from ‘anxiety attacks’, and that he was drinking like there was no tomorrow and that reading all the constant negative reports also contributed to his worsening health.

Post treatment at an Ayurvedic centre in Bengaluru for ‘rehabilitation’ and his first public appearance at the trailer launch of his second film ‘Firangi’ few days ago, we thought all was well.

But his health issues have returned, forcing him to keep Akshay Kumar and other celebrities waiting for more than four hours before eventually not turning up for his episode shoot on ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ on Tuesday, as reported by Mumbai Mirror.

“Akshay prefers to shoot early in the morning but after discussing the schedule with Kapil’s team, the schedule was slotted for 11am. Everyone, including Akshay and the others, arrived on the sets by 10.30 am and were waiting for Kapil. But the shoot was halted till 2pm while Kapil remained unavailable over the phone.

"At around 2.30pm, Akshay suggested that team start shooting without Kapil and add his bit whenever he arrives. An hour later, they were informed that Kapil will not turn up as he is unwell and his doctor has advised him rest,” a source told the tabloid.

Sajid Khan, who is also one of judges on the show along with Shreyas Talpade, confirmed the news, saying, “I heard about Kapil’s ill health. It is sad as we were looking forward to jam with him.”

Incidentally, Kapil had shot to fame by winning the show years ago and it was an unpleasant way to be associated with it again.
