Beauty in black

Ileana D'Cruz turned showstopper for Vikram Phadnis and wore a stunning and unique black lehenga choli.

Ileana D’Cruz recently turned showstopper for designer Vikram Phadnis, and was seen in a stunning black lehenga choli from the designer.

Vikram, who has given a huge twist to the traditional look says, “The show’s name was Lavanya, which means beautiful. I wanted to make an amalgamation of my old style and wanted to revamp it. Everybody feels that lehenga choli has to be traditional, but I want to give my artists some choice because they have to feel comfortable. Ileana’s look is a modern take on an Indian outfit which is lehenga choli but in a different way.”

Ileana’s personal style is very simple when it comes to Indian attire. “I do like wearing Indian clothes, but my styling is very simple nothing too fussy. I just need to be comfortable. So I would say you have to feel comfortable with whatever you are wearing, be it Indian or western. I think this one is lovely,” she smiles.

Vikram is all praise for Ileana’s laidback approach to fashion. “What I love about her is she is spontaneous, and she doesn’t stress much about what she is wearing two weeks before the date. You can’t plan anything with her, she is not a stressful girl. Diwali is on 27th so she will call on 26th and say what can we do. She is not one of those girls who stresses about hair, jewellery and makeup 10 days before,” he concludes.
