Abhishek is not a real-life cop in RGV’s next

There was buzz that filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma was set to work with Abhishek Bachchan for a cop drama, which is said to be based on a real life story.

However, Ramu quashed the rumour. He explained that his upcoming directorial venture, Arrest, isn’t modelled on former encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma.

He said, “Abhishek plays a cop in the film but it isn’t based on anyone’s life. It is a completely fictional story.” He continued, “It partly has a connection to underworld, but the story is set in today’s times. The issues are very different today.” The director also took the opportunity to clear the air about actress Huma Qureshi being a part of the film. He revealed, “Huma is not a part of the film. It is set in modern times; the issues are different today,” he says.
