Mahira Khan won't promote Raees: SRK assures MNS

Earlier, there were rumours on the social media regarding the release and fate of the much-awaited film.

Mumbai: Ahead of the release of Hindi movie Raees, which features Pakistani actor Mahira Khan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday evening at his residence. Earlier, there were rumours on the social media regarding the release and fate of the much-awaited film.

Rumours were rife on social media that the film is based on terrorist Abdul Raees, a close aide of gangster Dawood Ibrahim, who had funded the 1993 Mumbai blasts. Later, Raees killed in an encounter by the Gujarat police. Buzz is that SRK has glorified the character of terrorist in the film, which is scheduled for release on December 25.

“He (Shah Rukh Khan) had come to inform that rumours about Mahira Khan promoting Raees are false,” said Mr Thackeray. Raees, which features Khan and Mahira, is scheduled for a release next month.
