On Sunday morning Arjun Rampal woke up to reports that he had assaulted a photographer in Delhi the previous evening. According to a complaint filed against the actor, Arjun allegedly lost his cool after a photographer at a five star hotel started clicking his pictures. Arjun was apparently playing the DJ when the photographer’s camera went into a tizzy, thereby infuriating the actor who threw the camera flash at the audience in the hope that someone would catch it. Instead, it hit a reveller’s head who promptly lodged a police complaint.

Despite the excruciating details provided by the complainant, Arjun maintains that it’s ‘fake news’. He tweeted soon after, calling the episode ‘untrue’.

When contacted later in the day, Arjun stuck to his stance, saying, “This was bizarre because I didn’t recall any such incident. I started getting a barrage of calls and messages from friends asking what had happened. The answer is, nothing! Nothing happened,” said Arjun.

“I am not prone to violence. I’ve never raised my hand on anyone in real life. Even in my movies, I avoid overdoing violence. To raise my voice is an effort, to raise my hand is an ordeal,” he said in a lighter vein.

He recalls being live on stage in Delhi on Saturday night, but that’s that. “It was a fun gig .We were all having a great time. I don’t know where the violence came into the musical.”
