Bollywood’s Rajini obsession

The recently-released poster of Atul Manjrekar’s upcoming film Fanney Khan features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao and Anil Kapoor wearing a Rajinikanth mask. And it has sent social media-users into a tizzy trying to decode the film’s mysterious Rajinikanth connection.

Not to be outdone, the makers of the Indian adaptation of The Fault In Our Stars, which is now being called Kizie Aur Manny, have also released a poster of their film. And surprise-surprise, it features Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi, the former wearing a Rajinikanth mask!

“It’s a part of their campaign. The film has a Rajinikanth connection that the makers haven’t revealed yet. Director Mukesh Chhabra will speak about it soon,” reveals a source.

Though Rajinikanth’s last release, Kaala, which also starred Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi, didn’t do too well, it hasn’t stopped Bollywood from piggybacking on the actor’s popularity to promote their films. We wonder what the Thalaiva has to say about this.
