He has managed to bag some interesting roles so far in his career, but none has turned out to be a career-defining one for him yet. Arjun Kapoor, who has however garnered some great reviews for his performance in Mubarakan, says he would like to play a negative role on screen.

“I would love to do a negative role. I’ve never said no to that thought at all. In my first film, I had more shades of negative than positive. For me, I find that very challenging and exciting, but nothing that exciting has come my way, where I feel like giving my time. It’s interesting to do a negative role, where you can see a graph in the journey. If there’s an out and out black role, the material has to be equally interesting. So yes, I’m open to it, and it’s very exciting,” says Arjun.

The actor, however, had shades of grey in the characters he played in films like Ishaqzaade, Aurangzeb and Gunday. But it would be interesting to see Arjun exploring a full-fledged negative role.

Next on his plate is Dibakar Banejee’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, where he will share screen space with Parineeti Chopra. Talking about the film, he says, “It’s difficult to explain Dibakar’s films. His film is about two people from different walks of life who would never meet, but they get stuck in a situation. Everybody’s life has shades and how they come out in situations is what this film is about. You will see every shade of a person when you’re stuck in an unknown situation. So this film deals with that emotion.”
