Dia Mirza, who is all set to be seen in Sonam Nair’s Kafir, is clearly excited about her new innings. She says, “I feel this role has brought in loads of empowerment and strength for me and I have been able to give my best.”

The actor is also excited about the future of OTT platforms in India and feels that it gives more room to showcase her talent and explore her character at length. “Here, we do not have to limit ourselves like we have to in films,” she feels.

Dia, who has had a multi-cultural upbringing (born to a Bengali mother and a Christian father and raised in a Muslim home), feels that the biggest lesson her mother has taught her is that of humanity. “When I went to school, I was asked about my identity. I would come home and pose the same question to my mother. And she would say ‘I hope you are a good human being in the making; your first religion has to be humanity’,” she remembers and reveals that her journey with Kafir has brought a better sense of humanity in her. “I am blessed and feel as if there is some sort of a celestial connection bringing all of us together,” she concludes.
