Salman’s action film with Rajshri stalled, director moves to another family drama

Mumbai: Best known for making grand family dramas, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya has collaborated with Salman Khan in several films and delivered hits like ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun!’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hai’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, which is also his last directorial in 2015. Latest reports suggest that director might be choosing another actor over Salman for his next home production.

Earlier a close source revealed to Deccan Chronicle, "Since family dramas aren’t working for Sooraj Barjatya despite having Salman Khan in the lead as Prem, the actor had suggested Sooraj to make an action film which is relevant to current times.”

“Sooraj’s son who has been assisting him on his earlier projects might direct the action venture,” the source added.

Latest we hear is that, “The action film with Salman has been put on backburner due the actor’s packed schedule till 2019. Hence Sooraj has given his nod to a story about four protagonists. The relationships that they share will be a slice-of-life drama and a contemporary film. Sooraj wants to go ahead with the film at the earliest but twist to the tale is that he has asked one of his associates to helm the project.”
