2.0 box-office collection day 7: This is Rajinikanth’s highest grossing Hindi film

The S Shankar directorial has touched the Rs 500 crore mark worldwide within seven days of its release.

Mumbai: Megastar Rajinikanth’s latest Sci-Fi drama 2.0 is unstoppable at the box office. The Hindi version of the film opened at Rs 20.25 crore and has maintained a good pace even during the weekdays. Though there is a significant dip in the collection, the film is still pulling in a lot of crowd to theatres.

2.0 recently added Rs 9.50 crore more to its kitty. The total collection of the film, after a seven-day run, stands at Rs 132 crore.

Film Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote, "#2Point0 continues its winning streak... Maintains a super-strong hold on weekdays... Thu 20.25 cr, Fri 18 cr, Sat 25 cr, Sun 34 cr, Mon 13.75 cr, Tue 11.50 cr, Wed 9.50 cr. Total: ₹ 132 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version."

In the following tweet, Taran mentioned that 2.0 has become Rajnikanth’s highest grossing film in Hindi.

Co-distributor Karan Johar shared his excitement and tweeted, “CREATING HISTORY! #2Point0 continues its stride as a mega blockbuster, collects 500cr worldwide!” His other tweet read, “A box office PHENOMENA!!!! 500 crores worldwide!!!!! We at @DharmaMovies are so proud to be associated with the HINDI version of this movie marvel!!!!”

Talking about the success of 2.0, S Shankar had earlier wrote on Twitter, “My heart full thanks to the audience who have lapped up #2point0 and celebrated and made it a huge success, and to all the media who supported and respected the hard work of our team, and to my whole team who have given a piece of their life to 2.0.”

Produced by Lyca Productions, 2.0 opened in cinemas on November 29 to mixed to positive response from the audience and critics alike.
