Veteran actor Dilip Kumar is currently admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Lilavati hospital in Mumbai, after suffering from dehydration and a kidney ailment, on Wednesday. However, Dr Jalil Parkar said, the 94-year-old actor’s creatinine levels have worsened as compared to when he was admitted. He added that the actor’s kidneys are not functioning as well as they should and he’s been shifted to the ICU to recuperate.

Kumar was initially admitted to the hospital complaining of dehydration, which doctors quickly realised was due to his kidney issues.

“His kidneys are not functioning well, his creatinine level is not normal, he has kept under observation, and after his condition deteriorated we shifted him to the Intensive Care,” said Dr Parkar, gravely.

“He is responding well to  the treatments. Doctors are keeping a close watch on him,” he added.

This is the third time the actor has been admitted to the hospital. In December, he was brought in for a swelling in his right leg, and in April last year, he took ill with pneumonia. However, he made a quick recovery in two days.

Fans can only hope that the Padma Vibhushan awardee will make a recovery soon.
