Amrita has an iron grip on Sara’s debut

The former actress is leaving no stone unturned to ensure Sara is projected correctly in the media.

Saif Ali Khan’s ex-wife and mother of newbie Sara Ali Khan, Amrita Singh, is very upset with all the linkups her daughter has been subjected to, ever since she decided to make an entry into films.

The former actress has clearly told Sara to refrain from hanging out with her male ‘friends’ and her co-stars, to ensure she’s not in the news for the wrong reasons.

“Stars are in the news for wrong reasons mostly for their link-ups, and it happens a lot with the younger stars. So Sara has been informed clearly to stay away from link-up stories, which may emerge with the primary motive of promoting her debut, Kedarnath,” says a source close to the Pataudis.

While Saif has formerly revelled in such gossip, Amrita feels that their daughter needs her work to be talked about. “Cinema is changing. People are interested in controversies around the content of the film, rather than about stars and their relationships. Otherwise, Jagga Jasoos would be a super-hit because people would have wanted to know about how Katrina Kaif did not get along with Ranbir Kapoor anymore,” says a senior media observer.

Amrita also had a meeting and dinner with Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor, to ensure that her daughter was projected properly in the film, and told him that she wants Sara to be presented in the right manner. With mom Amrita at the helm of her career graph now, Sara seems sure to be going right, unlike when we heard multiple stories about her when she was about to be cast in a Karan Johar film.
