Deepika Padukone personally supervised the Mumbai reception

If the pictures of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s third wedding reception that took place on Saturday have got you wondering who is the brain behind such a glamorous grandeur, it was none other Deepika Padukone.   

The fact that Deepika's impeccable taste will triumph over Ranveer's flamboyant aesthetics was proven at the Grand Hyatt wedding reception held on Saturday night where Deepika monitored every detail, no matter how minute.

A prominent guest at the reception said, “Both, Deepika and Ranveer’s mother told me that every detail of the reception, from the food on the menu, flowers on the tables to even the colour-coordination of the attendant staff, was piloted by Deepika. She wouldn’t let Ranveer touch any aspect of the reception. And Ranveer seemed more than happy to let his new bride take the lead. Here is a truly liberated husband who doesn't mind letting his wife take the centre stage as he cheers her on from the sidelines.”

Moreover, one would expect some animosity between Deepika and Katrina Kaif since the former broke up with ex-flame Ranbir Kapoor because of the latter, but instead Katrina was seen greeting the newly-weds warmly. Another interesting encounter was of Malaika Arora’s former husband Arbaaz Khan and her new love-interest Arjun Kapoor, who came face-to-face and were spotted exchanging pleasantries.

Meanwhile, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar drove all the way from Khandala where their dear friend art director Bijon Das Gupta's daughter was getting married. It was a good day for couples as Tiger Shroff made an entry with Disha Patani, and Varun Dhawan with his girlfriend Natasha Dalal.
