Vikram Malhotra, the producer of films such as Boss, Baby, Airlift and the recent Mitron has finally managed to acquire a prestigious project that was being eyed by many film producers across the country. The film in question is Lijo Jose Pellisery’s Angamaly Diaries that has not only won acclaim all over the world but also did very well at the box office. Angamaly Diaries is about Vincent Pepe played by Anthony Verghese who wants to be the head of a righteous gang. The film’s highlight is an eleven-minute uncut scene starring over 1000 actors. “Many were vying for the rights of the film including some of the biggest production houses from Bollywood, but the film’s producers Friday Film House preferred to sell the rights to Abundantia Entertainment through their legal representatives Naik and Naik. The rights have been sold at a very fancy price,” informs our source. Angamaly Diaries was made with a lot of newcomers and is the Malayalam equivalent of Gangs of Wasseypur. Whether the production house decides to cast newcomers or some known faces in the Hindi remake remains to be seen.
